film is not (ever) dead

Sharing recent film scans from The Darkroom Lab, shot on Kodak portraits 400 35mm film by Jessica love photography in and around near me Columbus Ohio. Venues include Revery, Jorgensen Farms, North 4th Corridor Brick and Mortar. Film is exciting to shoot because it takes talent and observation skills to properly expose for light and conditions.

I love knowing when people find me because they’re diving down an internet rabbit hole of film photography (do we hashtag #film for that?). I’ll always try to incorporate film into my wedding and family shooting - and hopefully some of these recent film scans show you why!

the grain on that one!

I cannot even tell you how incredibly happy I am to see color again. Ya know flowers are my favorite, and I truly cannot get enough of this summer so far!

Recap of family and wedding photography

Westerville, Ohio, is a picturesque backdrop for wedding and family photography, offering a blend of charming landscapes and vibrant community spaces. Whether you’re planning a grand celebration or an intimate gathering, capturing the essence of your day is essential.

Wedding Photography

Every wedding tells a unique story, and as a luxury family wedding photographer, my goal is to encapsulate the moments that matter most. From the anticipation before the ceremony to the joyful celebration with family and friends, I employ both digital and film techniques to create timeless images that reflect your love story.

Locations around Westerville, such as the serene Uptown District and the scenic Hoover Reservoir, provide stunning scenes for your wedding photos. Each venue offers a distinct atmosphere, perfect for documenting every detail—from the delicate lace of a bridal gown to

It's no secret that when I’m not working, I love not working, and absolutely enjoy my time away…but also that when I AM working, I love it and am so grateful for all that I get to see and capture! Here’s a quick update, because we’re finding ourselves in the “working phase” of my duality ;)

and, finally, an Easter wedding at Oak Grove Jorgensen’s amazing greenhouse venue!

APRIL - WE ALL NEED SOME COLOR

looking and blooming flowers both in wedding photography and nature by Jessica love photography.

We’re almost to color and blooms. I always marvel at the spring - the world wakes up just as we, in the northern hemisphere, are desperately in need of hope. As I plant my fall bulbs, I always think of the beauty of hope. We plant at the beginning of the dark, the cold and phasing down of nature….knowing that spring will come. And we’re right on the brink - can’t wait to share my blooms with the world.
