film is not (ever) dead
Sharing recent film scans from The Darkroom Lab, shot on Kodak portraits 400 35mm film by Jessica love photography in and around near me Columbus Ohio. Venues include Revery, Jorgensen Farms, North 4th Corridor Brick and Mortar. Film is exciting to shoot because it takes talent and observation skills to properly expose for light and conditions.
I love knowing when people find me because they’re diving down an internet rabbit hole of film photography (do we hashtag #film for that?). I’ll always try to incorporate film into my wedding and family shooting - and hopefully some of these recent film scans show you why!
the grain on that one!
summer faves
it’s clearly not summer here, but as soon as wedding season is in full swing, it’s easy to forget SUMMER proper is not until June 20! But, what we have time to share now are some recent favorites from all the beautiful weddings I’ve been a part of! I hope their happiness and comfort shines through!
another monday, another weekend faves
This is just such an easy and effective way to get new work out there - aren’t you (echo across the internet valleys…you..you…youuuuu) looking forward to it every week!?
I loved getting to check out Overlook at Astor Park - a new to Columbus venue that is just so beautiful. If you’re looking for a venue - check this one out!!
Sunday faves!
wedding photography from a Friday night wedding at Jorgensen Farms The Gardens venue in Westerville, Ohio. Teasers from a Saturday Elopement with Windi from Run to an Elopement at the Franklin Park. It is an honor to photography weddings and love - all love in Ohio and surrounding midwest areas. All photography by jessica love photography
truly, if I can keep up with blogging a few select favorites from the weekend for the bulk of wedding season, I’ll be amazed with myself! this weekend included a Friday wedding at Jorgensen Farms and a Saturday Elopement at Franklin Park. Every once and a while Ohio weather agrees with what we need it to be - and it was absolutely perfect for both events!

I hear myself being so annoying about how much I love my job and my couples, and getting to be a part of so much joy every weekend…but I also am ok with that energy going out into the world!
collecting film favorites from 2024
selected photographer favorites from a year of hybrid wedding photography using film and digital. These images are shot on a Canon 1V or Hassleblad medium format camera.
It’s always one of my favorite things to do in the slower season: Looking back through the year and resharing with fresh eyes + memories about all I got to witness in the previous year. I just really love this job. It’s never lost on me all that I get to be a part of with people who start out as strangers and become buds. Technically I like to slow down, look through all the images that didn’t catch my eye the first time, and figure out how I might be able to crop or adapt them to fit a need I didn’t know I missed. Enjoy some of my favorites, shot on my Canon 1V or Hassleblad medium format camera.
I find that film is something that lots of couples are curious about - is this you? I’d love to chat you through what a wedding day on film (and digital) would look like for you. Wedding day or family session, I love those, too! I have a few more dates I’d love LOVE to fill up this year - let’s chat today if you think that sounds good!
