FAQ

  • HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN A PHOTOGRAPHER?

Thanks to my mom’s influence, I’ve had a Canon film camera in my hands as long as I can remember…but when my husband proposed with a DSLR as my engagement ring, it all changed! I started photographing weddings in 2010, and still love the job I’m so lucky to do!

  • HOW HAS YOUR STYLE EVOLVED OVER THE YEARS?

I’m more confident in my ability to help clients have a beautiful day and deliver images that feel authentic and true.

I bring calm, clear planning and an easygoing presence to every shoot so your day unfolds naturally. My approach blends film and digital to capture both the grainy, timeless moments and the crisp, detailed ones — real smiles, quiet glances, unscripted interactions. I prioritize candid connection over stiff posing, guiding gently when needed and stepping back when the moment is already perfect.

Practical things I do to make that happen:

Pre-wedding consultation to understand your priorities, timeline, and must-have shots.

Shot list collaboration so we cover family formals and the meaningful unscripted moments.

Calm, unobtrusive direction for portraits that keeps people comfortable and genuine.

Use of film for emotional, nostalgic frames and digital for fast-moving, detail-rich captures.

Quick communication and a backup plan so logistics never overshadow your day.

The result is a relaxed experience and a gallery of images that look — and feel — like you: honest, warm, and beautifully true to the moment.

  • DO YOU SHOOT ALL TYPES OF EVENTS?

Yes? and No? I have shot all the things, and while so many types of shoots are near and dear to my heart, I have entered a phase of life that being a mother is my number one priority - thus, most of my time spent away is shooting weddings. During the off season I’m happy to take on a bit more family / lifestyle work (hey! I was listed on the Peerspace Best Lifestyle Photographers in Columbus!)

  • DO YOU TRAVEL?

I do not seek travel, but will travel for the right couple!

If your day is meaningful and feels like "us"—whether that's an intimate barn wedding in Ohio, a city elopement, or a destination celebration—I'll join you. I shoot a hybrid of film and digital to capture honest, timeless images with natural poses and real emotion. Travel availability is considered on a case-by-case basis and may include travel fees depending on distance, logistics, and the scope of the event.

  • FILM? BUT LIKE, FILM FILM?

YES! I started shooting film more heavily of my own personal photography in 2016, and haven’t stopped. I love the creativity I find myself using when I look through a film camera.

  • THE IMPORTANT QUESTION: COFFEE OR FLOWERS?

RIGHT? This is from years ago when my daughter asked which was higher on my list of favorites. I think now, FLOWERS!

  • what is the best part of a wedding day?

Meeting your family and capturing genuine emotion is one of the most meaningful parts of your day. Those first hugs, nervous laughs, proud smiles, and quiet moments shape your story. I stay present but unobtrusive—guiding gentle poses while watching for spontaneous details: a wiped tear, a whispered joke, a grandparent’s hand. Shooting hybrid film and digital preserves warmth and texture (film) plus crisp, immediate detail (digital). The result is an honest, lived-in gallery—portraits of connection, candid personality, and memorable close-ups. Bring everyone as they are, and we’ll create images you’ll cherish for generations.

  • do you support the LGBTQIA+ community?

I only have to say YES to this. 100% yes, all the time!
