Krista + Mike | a courthouse wedding!
Sometimes (always) the most special parts of your day include quiet, intimate moments between you and your closest family members and friends. YES. Your wedding may include 200+ people, and YES it's quite worth it for a photographer to capture lots of those candid moments that happen between any of those people...but when people just know that a big wedding is not for them, and they want to make it more about the final outcome of being MARRIED!, they're smart to realize that there are still ahhhh-maaaazing photos and memories to be captured!
Small, intimate, courthouse style, or elopement weddings are among my absolutely FAVORITE events to be a part of. I will almost always find a way for me to be a part of your event, if you'd like me to be there!
Here's Krista + Mike's wedding from last May. Enjoy!
Kayti + Josh | married at The Darby House
Darby House Wedding in Galloway Ohio. Columbus Ohio best of wedding photography
So the thing about this job lately is that my awesome clients-turned-friends are so fantastic about sharing their experiences with me with their to-be-married friends, I have barely shared ANNNNNYYYYTHING from 2014 OR 2015. No joke. Kayti + Josh's wedding was in August of 2014, and I'm sharing because I absolutely love the chance to shoot at this gorgeous venue. Ahem, ahem, 2017 brides at the Darby House, I'm talking to you!
Ally + Brian | Married at Athletic Club of Columbus
Ally + Brian were married on the.color-est.weekend of this fall. BUT, as you'll see, we have ZERO naturey-fall-ey-colorey-goodness photos. Say what? ..right? I was right there with ya, for a minute, then I edited the photos and quickly realized how obsessed with this wedding I am. Here's why: (and here's a thing about, as a person, and as a business, it's important you know: I'm always honest with you.) these two did it their way. We had planned to go and get some more portraits over in some awesome fall-ey places, but then...life. They decided that other things fit them better. And at first, I think I pouted for about 30 seconds because normally it's what you have to do on weddings: take portraits, but when I saw what I was getting to capture instead, I was super happy our timeline went this way.
These photos are candids, they're natural, just the type of wedding day that Ally + Brian wanted to have. As your wedding photographer, it's important to be able to follow a schedule, YOUR schedule that you've made previously..but it's also important to follow your LEAD on your wedding day, and be able to give you amazing photos when you decide what you thought you wanted just wasn't it.
Enjoy a candid look into Ally + Brian's wedding day at the Athletic Club of Columbus, with some portraits and fun around German Village!
Winter in home sessions!
I NEVER leave enough time in my schedule to allow me to do in home sessions. I haven't blogged enough around this new space for you to know, always, 100%, above all else, what matters most to me are my babies + hubs. So when I'm away shooting 30 weddings a year (another story for another day is the fact that every.single.year. I vow to shoot NO MORE THAN 15 weddings...), you can see how I don't quickly take on EXTRA time away from these sweet things in my life. ....then I shoot an in home session for a family that I adore, and I leave thinking, maybe just maybe I can find a way to get a few more of these into my "off weekends."
Well, I think I've found a way. For me, December, January, February, March + April tend to be slow months, I purposefully don't overextend myself, and allow my schedule to be calm, empty, and open. I'd like to use these months to take on some in home sessions, because they're so so special to me to be a part of. I shot my mini sessions this fall, and loved that little snippet of seeing into family's loving chaos..but I want MORE. I want to capture the real that happens at home. The nonsense I shoot of my own children always end up being my favorites. The three of them doing their daily things, in their ragamuffin clothes. Those are the memories that are written in my heart, that I never want to forget. THAT. CHAOS.
So for the next few months, I'll be offering special pricing for in home sessions -
$275 for up to an hour session, with 50 digital files included (you select from your digital gallery), with the option to purchase more/the rest/prints/albums, etc.
I hope that a bunch of you take advantage of this great deal! Email today jessicalovephoto@gmail.com
if you know you're interested + we'll start chatting dates!
Let's get a little personal here
announcing studio photography for boudoir sessions. inquire today!
You ready for this? Let's talk boudoir photography. It's one of my favorite favorite type of session to shoot. The reasons seem obvious, but I'll write them out for you. Every session that I've shot, ever, starts with a nervous subject and a nervous photographer, then ends with a beautiful woman who feels comfortable, confident in her own body, and a photographer who feels inspired to have helped to surface such wonderful feelings. It's an amazing journey, and I'm always honored when my beautiful client-friends ask me to document their story for them.
I'm talking about it here today because I'm excited to embark on this opportunity I'm creating to shoot.more.boudoir! Over the next month or so we're going to be opening up a portion of our home dedicated to shooting boudoir, it'll be an awesome space that will perfectly compliment a boudoir session. I figured I better get some examples up here, in this new internet space, to show that I most certainly do shoot (and love) boudoir sessions!
The sessions will be available at the perfect time to give some killer holiday gifts!!
Stay tuned here as it comes together to get a preview of what it looks like, as well as booking details! Or, if you know it's something you've been waiting for, feel free to go ahead and get in touch with me now to reserve your spot!!

Benvy + Nick | married at Brookside Farms
Brookside farm wedding photography
Benvy + Nick are two incredible people, individually, but also have an incredible story. They've spent the majority of their time together living (far far) apart, doing great things. It was wonderful to have been a part of the celebration that is the start of their lives together, and together. Welcome back to the U.S., Benvy! Thank you so much for trusting me with your wedding memories! Enjoy reliving their wedding day below:
